Our Spring Entry and Living Room – Canadian Bloggers Home Tour

This post contains affiliate links & photos. See our full disclosure here.

With each season change, we swap out some decor to make room for new. This is our Spring entry and living room home tour, styled with warm neutrals and hints of blush pink to welcome Spring.

Each season we have the pleasure of co-hosting a series of house tours with a talented group of Canadian bloggers and our friend Christina from TheDIYMommy.com. While we’d love to give you a full tour of our house all at once decorated for Spring, we’re once again in the middle of a couple of makeovers (our dining room and our master bedroom). So until those are finished,  we’re only sharing our Spring entry and living room for this home tour. Not to worry though, there’s still plenty of pretty pink Spring inspiration here for you!

Dean and Shannon Acheson's Spring Entry. White and black farmhouse style with touches of blush pink.

In case we haven’t met yet, I’m Shannon. My husband, Dean and I started Home Made Lovely almost eight years ago to chronicle the DIY projects on a fixer upper we owned at the time. We’ve since sold that home (and another) and are now working on this house.
Recently, we also expanded Home Made Lovely to a larger company that is focused on creating a beautiful home and a lovely life – in the midst of all the craziness. We have hundreds of real decorating ideas, simple DIY projects, yummy recipes and loving encouragement for you, beautiful momma.

Our Spring Entry

In some seasons, we’re happy to pull down all the things and redo an entire space for the season. Christmas is generally one of those times. We do it in other seasons occasionally too. But this Spring, I didn’t have the energy. Something about long grey days, and also two other rooms in shambles while they get made over. So, the entry simply got a few blush and pastel touches.

We removed the heavier and dark A marquee and the large die box that was previously on the table

They were replaced with our ombre pastel painted mason jar vases and some faux pastel eggs.

We also added some Spring touches to our tiered tray and wooden crate.

Even with just those few things being added or changed, the entry is now looking decidedly Spring-ish!

Even though it’s right next to the entry, on the way to the living room, we’ll be skipping the dining room for today’s tour. Not to worry, we’ll be back later in the month for it’s makeover reveal and it’s Spring debut!

Our Spring Living Room

We were also feeling like we liked the living room as it was, given that we’d just refreshed it not too long ago.

We also didn’t have much budget to spend on new spring things, nor could we really justify buying more when our basement is full of decor things! So we pulled out last year’s Spring pillows – simple blush pink textured covers on our feather inserts – and added some fresh flowers in similar blush tones.

And just like that, our living room is also looking like it’s ready for Spring.

Now if only our weather would cooperate.

Do you decorate with the seasons? Do you go all out or do you simply add in a few seasonal touches?

xo,
Shannon

You have a very lovely home Shannon, at least the part you wanted us to see-so far. Will look forward to seeing the reveals of rooms you’re currently working on, such ambition.
There is much I would love to do to our single wide, mfg. .home but Mr. Furry is of mind, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Of course that would depend on a person’s perspective and budget.
We live on our SS which doesn’t go very far where we live, western CO, few miles west of Grand Junction. If it were up to me we’d be busy often doing fix ups and upgrading. Mr. Furry says he’s too old to be doing too much, Since I am 1 yr. 3 months older than him I tell him he’s full of beans, we’re in later 70’s.
    Have great week

Thank you, JaneEllen. Most of the rest is lovely too. Not as tidy – teenagers! – but lovely. There’s lots left to do here too. Seems like there always is with any house. You have a fabulous sense of humor! I love it!

Love your home, Shannon! What a beautiful entryway! I wish I had a bigger space like this. You’ve styled it perfectly.
    Hugs, Jamie

Shannon! Love the pinks and blushes. The entryway and living room feed into each other so seamlessly, and they’re decorated to reflect it. Beautifully done with lots of subtle touches. Hat off to you!

Loved it all Shannon. It’s always so pretty no matter what you do my friend. Great tour, looking forward to the new reveals coming up!

  5. Jill F. Jones says

Love your Spring entry and living room, they illustrate the true value of using a light, neutral main color scheme. (So fresh and uplifting after the winter “drearies”). A few seasonal touches/colors can totally change the whole look without spending a lot of money and allows one to rotate favorite items. Found your site on “the happy housie” Spring tour and signed up to get your emails. I am looking forward to future blogs.

So pretty, Shannon! I love the soft pops of blush! And I have that same mirror in your entryway – ours is now in our entryway as well. Gorgeous find! Thank you for hosting!
