See My Favorite Farmhouse Style Neutral Sideboard!

With spring comes changing out some of our tabletop decor. This is my favorite farmhouse style neutral sideboard decor so far!

We’re nearing the end of winter. (Can I get an ‘Amen!’) To this homebody that means it’s time to change out some of our regular decor for slightly more seasonal pieces. Like this little farmhouse style neutral sideboard vignette that I created this week.

If you’re coming here from the lovely Krista’s, aka The Happy Housie, welcome! In case we haven’t met yet, I’m Shannon. My husband, Dean and I started Home Made Lovely almost eight years ago to chronicle the DIY projects on a fixer upper we owned at the time. We’ve since sold that home (and another) and are now working on this house. We have hundreds of real decorating ideas, simple DIY projects, yummy recipes and loving encouragement for you

The piece that started the whole thing was this vintage chicken feeder looking plate rack. I’d seen them online, but never quite got around to ordering one. Then when I popped into Michaels to see what spring goodies they had, I found this one for 40% off. I loaded it with my summer Rae Dunn plates and set it right there in the middle of the sideboard.

Actually, a lot of this little display unintentionally came from Michaels. (Not a sponsored post.) The baskets underneath the sideboard, the little vases with faux greens, the antique looking spindles. Even the clay pots!

Of course the table itself was thrown together by Dean one weekend a couple of years ago now. The lamps came from Lowe’s. And the clock can be found here

Sometimes, I really don’t feel like swapping out decor pieces with the seasons. But inevitably I feel better about the house after I do. And it was much easier this week, since we’d just cleaned out my decor storage room and streamlined everything. Our youngest – bless her organization loving heart – even labelled all my rubbermaid totes with the label maker!

So, do you add spring decor (or other seasonal decor)? Or do you just add a vase of fresh flowers and call it a day?

I'd love it if you'd share:

Hey Shannon, what a fun space. I love the plate rack and your chunky knit blanket. I’ve been meaning to make/buy one of those for three years now and here we are nearing the end of winter again and I haven’t purchased…I blame it on the fact that I want to touch it and check out the “soft” before I buy and I just don’t get out enough LOL

Beautiful! That cozy blanket is amazing!! I kinda crave change in my life, so I do enjoy the new seasonal changes… though when I’m in the midst of the switch over I don’t always love it at that second. When it’s done, I do 🙂

I love your article and I like your take on seasonal changes.
I’d like your opinion (if possible) on the decor that I make. I can also make one specifically for you as a gift if you’d like.
