Finally decorate your own home – with confidence!
You’re so much closer to a beautifully-decorated home than you think. You just need a little help to get there!
When we last left off with the pink and gold girl’s bedroom makeover with the FrogTape® Paintover Challenge for our daughter, things were a bit of a mess. Which is bound to happen when making over a room, am I right?
But thankfully things don’t stay a mess for long and Lilly’s room is looking rather beautiful now:
If you recall, FrogTape® challenged us to makeover a room for $1000.
So how did we spend that $1000?
Well as I mentioned we already had a bed and dresser.
We had also already purchased Lilly a craft desk shortly after moving in.
But she needed nightstands and another bookshelf. Not to mention table lamps, a rug and pretty accessories like wall art.
And of course, paint to cover all the old blue paint.

I think we created the lovely ‘Luscious Layers’ look we were going for, don’t you?
Plus our girl is pretty happy with her pink and gold girl’s bedroom makeover!
P.S. Check out our other daughter’s room reveal here.
So so pretty! Love the bedding! I love pink and gold. It’s the theme for my 3 year old daughters room as well!
It’s such a pretty pairing, the pink and gold, for a girl’s room. đŸ™‚
I love this makeover! The soft whites, pinks, greys, and gold accents are so pretty but grown up. Fantastic job Shannon! Question: Did you prime the blue walls first? Our bedroom is tan and I want to paint it SW’s Sea Salt and think I might have to prime first. I value your opinion. đŸ™‚ Pam
I did not prime the walls first, but I did use one of SW’s paint and primer in ones. There’s is the only one that isn’t all goopy and thick, but it covers so well!
I Love this bedroom! I would even love it as an adult…although my husband might disagree!! Great job!
Lol. It’s so pretty I’d love it as my room too!
Love it!
Thanks, Debbie!
Love the bedding and bed skirt!
I know! I so want that bedskirt for MY bed!
She must love it! I’ve been debating picking up that throw in grey for the baby’s room! I love it!
Yes, do it! It’s SO soft!!!
So freaking beautiful! I love the light fixture. I took Olive to Micheals and they had a whole gold accessory section and she declared she “needed” multiple items and we just had to buy them. I can’t wait to show her Older Lilly’s room when she comes home.
Oh my gosh, that’s so adorable!!! đŸ™‚
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you, Heather.
She is one lucky girl!! It has a lovely soft layer effect – beautiful job!!
She is – and she knows it!
The room turned out beautifully. I’m sure your daughter is in love with it.
Oh she is for sure in love with it! She was away when I finished it and so it was like one of those reveal shows when she finally got to see it!
Absolutely stunning!!! What a wonderful transformation. I didn’t see the source for the large rug on the floor…..Could you include that? I LOVE it
I’m so sorry, I’ve added it now! Here it is (affiliate link): Aerial Garnished Medallion Rug.
Thank you soooo much!!!!
(and Frog tape is to die for….LOVE it!)
Yes, it is GREAT stuff!
The room turned out adorable, Shannon! I love the comforter on the bed, super cute!
Thanks, Chealsea. Yes! My daughter loves that quilt too!
Relaxing and soothing.
Great job Shannon.
Thanks!
Looks amazing ! Pretty and perfect for a young girl.
My first thought when I saw the rug is that it is a Magnolia Rug. I see it is not but looks close to one of theirs. Very beautiful.
Interesting! I haven’t seen any of their rugs, but I do like some of their other products.
Gorgeous room! I absolutely love the bedding!! Well done.
Thanks, Karen!
Great job!! Excellent choice on the colors and the layering. I just have one question, what about the 4th wall? I saw a part of it in the pic with the door and partial of a mirror. Just wondering,,,,I figured it was the closet but wanted to see if you did anything special for it, I appreciate your talent and opening up your home to us. Be blessed!
Well after looking at the pics again…I have a second question: how did you attach the canopy over the headboard? đŸ™‚
It’s an Ikea ‘canopy’, so it just hangs from a loop on the top. We just put a hook in the ceiling to hang it from.
The fourth wall is the doorway and mirror we shared, plus a closet. The closet didn’t get made over yet, so we didn’t share it on purpose!
Beautiful room! And tha light fixture is just gorgeous!
That’s the light fixture our daughter chose. Dean and I texted her two from the store. Lol.
Beautiful!
WoW!! ABSOLUTELY beautiful !!! I would luv that room !! PInk and Gray and Gold… perfect.
SIMPLY MAGICAL !!!
Hi there….I love what you’ve done with your daughters room and she’s so lucky to have so much space…..I’d love to know where you got the duvet cover from….we’re moving house this weekend and unfortunately all our kids are going into much smaller rooms so it’s going to be interesting decorating her room now with a lot less space……have you used two mattresses on your daughters bed and where did you get the ruffled bed skirt I love that…..I look forward to more posts ?
Thanks, Michelle. The duvet cover is linked in the source list and the ruffled bedskirt was from Homesense (that’s like Homegoods, but in Canada).
