I’ve always loved filling my home with delightful scents, but I’m not a fan of chemical-heavy sprays from the store. That’s why I started making my own essential oil room sprays. It’s quick, easy, and endlessly customizable—and it makes me feel good knowing my family is breathing in something natural. Whether you want a cozy vibe for fall or something light and fresh for summer, these blends will have your home smelling amazing all year long!

How to Make Essential Oil Room Sprays

I’ve made room sprays for my house for YEARS! Like way back when I had a little shop. Here’s what those ones looked like.

Homespun Country room sprays.

Those ones weren’t made with essential oils though. I didn’t discover those until way later!

Here’s how to make essential oil room sprays:

Materials

  • 1 pinch of epsom salts
  • Distilled water
  • Essential oil blend of choice (see below)

Tools

  • Small funnel

Instructions

In a small bowl, add a pinch of epsom salts.

Add in your favorite essential oil blend using one of the ‘recipes’ below.

Fill a small bottle with distilled, room temperature water.

Add the fragrant salts using the funnel. Shake.

Finish with your choice of label.

  • 15 drops Copaiba

  • 9 drops Lavender

    1. Hmm. That depends a bit on the essential oils you’ve used. Since there’s no additional chemicals, these don’t last quite as long as the chemical filled ones do.
