In this post: A fall tablescape perfect for Thanksgiving….that was later featured in a magazine or two.
Did you know that around here we start to decorate for Christmas on November 1st?!
Yup!
The tree goes up, we decorate a little and we order pizza.
Would it surprise you a little less if I reminded you we live in Canada and Canadian Thanksgiving is in the middle of October?
Ah, yes. There you go. Now it makes a little more sense, doesn’t it?
By November 1st fall is practically over and Thanksgiving is finished for us.
Anyways, all that means is that next weekend we’re hosting family for Thanksgiving. Which I LOVE!
The love, the laughter, the food.
Thanksgiving next weekend also means that last week I practiced setting a rustic natural fall table.
Yes, practiced.
You see, when five kids start running around and 6 adults are milling about, it’s tough to be creative. BUT, if I set the table how I like it before-hand, I can repeat it on Thanksgiving.
And everything tastes better when the table looks pretty, don’t ya know!
Are you with me?
Wait, doesn’t EVERYONE practice setting the table all pretty and festive? Hmm.
Well you should. It’s a lot of fun!

Have you planned your Thanksgiving table yet? When do you start decorating for Christmas?
So pretty Shannon, I love it. And now, I wish I was hosting Thanksgiving too. 😉
🙂 Thanks, friend! xo
Hi Shannon, You guys are just awesome! I love all your ideas. You are an amazing couple. So nice that you are able to work together doing what you love. This is the best Thanksgiving Table ever – it actually looks like something I could do. I love just having white dishes, and you have made the table beautiful with the orange napkins and other fall decor. I even have the Mason Jar Drinkers. And I love the woven place mats that add so much texture. I don’t know, but do you guys have a decorating book in print? Would love to get one if you do. And if you don’t then you need to get busy! It would be an awesome book. Thanks so much for all the hard work you put into your blog.
You are the sweetest, Rhonda! We don’t have a print decorating book, just our eBook – which is due for a rewrite as soon as I can get to it. 🙂 Thank you so much for the encouraging words. They mean a lot to us!
I love the simplistic yet elegant look of your table. Your centerpiece speaks volumes. This looks like a table where memories will be made. Thank you for showing us how to do it right. BTW…regardless of where you live, I don’t think it’s ever too early to decorate for Christmas:)
🙂 Happy to meet another Christmas decorator!
Absolutely lovely, Shannon! Every detail is perfect! Happy (almost) Thanksgiving! 😀
Happy almost Thanksgiving, Shayna!
Have a very happy Thanksgiving. Can’t wait to see the floor.
Thank you, Margaret!
I love your thanksgiving table so pretty!! 🙂 I love that Thanksgiving is in the middle of Oct — in the USA — I always feel so rushed after Thanksgiving to get everything done for Christmas and barely have time to enjoy it – sigh! lol 🙂
Gorgeous table! And happy Thanksgiving to you this weekend as well!! Enjoy 🙂
So much fabulous Fall on your table. Love it!
Cheers
What a beautiful table. I love all the details. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I hope your holiday is fantastic.
