I know, I know.
I'm writing about fall decorating and crafts in August.
To be honest I'm not quite done with summer yet. Our kids don't start school again for another month. And I want to take next week off actually to spend time with visiting family if at all possible.
But fall has been on my mind. So I bring you a round up of our past fall projects. Just to get your wheels turning and whet your appetites.
Let's start with last year's fall home tour. It was our first autumn in this house and I had fun decorating with classic orange and creamy white.
Of course we always change the mantel with the seasons, so it got all dressed up for fall too.
I made both the fall banner you see above and the fall burlap banner below ages ago at our last house.
The fabric Cinderella pumpkins I made several years ago still get pulled out each year to be put on display in one way or another.
Last year's fall/Thanksgiving table was also a favorite with its homemade trough and bright orange pumpkins.
Another project from our last house was this scrapbook paper fall banner that was part of our very first mantel decorations.
We use a lot of mason jars around here, but we swap out the standard ring lids for daisy lids. Which ends up leaving quite a few rings lying around, some of which I used to make mason jar lid pumpkins.
I love the written word and signs get me every time. When I was styling the dining room last year I needed something to fill a space (go figure – that's how many of my easy little projects are born). So I whipped up this simple harvest sign.
I've got many more ideas to come for this fall so stay tuned!
So does that get your creative fall juices flowing? Are you done with summer or still enjoying it?
