If you live in ‘The Six', here are a few date ideas in Toronto that you should consider this Valentine's Day…or any day of the year!
This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Wednesday, but that just means that you can celebrate with your sweetheart all week long. There are so many incredible, romantic Valentine’s Day date ideas in Toronto, Ontario. Whether you're in a new relationship or you’re celebrating after decades of marriage, in my somewhat biased opinion, there is no better city to celebrate being in love!
Add a little mystery.
Take in dinner and a show at Mysteriously Yours, a mystery dinner theater that will leave your stomach full and your mind entertained. Enjoy a three course meal beginning with salad and soup. The chef’s special appetizer is available for an additional charge. Entrees include slow braised beef with mushroom, roasted potatoes, carrots and leaks, a roasted chicken breast dinner, blackened salmon with rice pilaf and vegetables, and vegetarian ratatouille. Most options are available gluten-free. Dessert is a s’mores tart or carrot cake.
Not only will you enjoy a decadent display of culinary greatness, you and your sweetheart will be immersed in a metaphorical ride on Murder! The Disorient Express! Interact with the actors as much as you’d like to help solve the murder mystery. Call ahead to request being incorporated into the show, especially if you’re celebrating a pivotal Valentine’s Day anniversary, proposal, or birthday. Tickets are available online for purchase.
Celebrate an iconic love story at the ballet.
Romeo and Juliet’s love story would not be any couple’s first choice to model, but it certainly permeates romance as it’s told on stage through Prokofiev’s “Romeo & Juliet” ballet on stage at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
Two hours of beauty on stage accompanied by passionate concertos featuring the orchestra’s principal harpist will have you falling in love with Toronto music, dance, and culture.
Stop and smell the flowers.
The Annual Southern Ontario Orchid Society Show displays more than 30,000 orchid blooms. Valentine’s Day is known for bouquets and blossoms, so why not check out these gorgeous blooms with the one you love on Cupid’s holiday.
Vendors will be onsite, so you may want to leave with some gorgeous flowers for your sweetie during this event the weekend before Valentine’s Day.
Fly high on romance.
Take a private helicopter tour over Toronto with you and your love. Heli Tours offers three romantic ride options, the Romantic Jewel, Romantic Gold, and Romantic Interlude tours. The Romantic Jewel takes you and your sweetheart on a 15 km tour of downtown Toronto. You’ll also receive a 5×7 souvenir print (standing next to the helicopter) to take home. The Romantic Gold also includes a photo, but you’ll go on a 35 km tour of Toronto.
Perhaps the most romantic tour of all is the Interlude, which takes off at sunset and travels 35 km. The romance doesn’t stop with the mood in the sky. This tour comes with a gift basket complete with wine, chocolate, and a teddy bear. Each of you will receive a 5×7 print at the end of the flight.
Whatever option you choose, soaring above the city is one way to ensure a lovely Valentine’s Day in Toronto!
Toronto, Ontario will never lack for romance, especially on Valentine’s Day. There’s so much for you and your sweetie to do on the upcoming holiday. Take advantage of Valentine’s Day dates in Toronto, Ontario, and you’ll fall in love with the city and your darling this February 14.
