This is an Ikea hack of sorts. I love Ikea for it's simple linens. And these Ikea Marit placemats were just screaming for some embellishment. No, not like with glitter and jewels. But just a little something-something, you know?
So, as I'm working on Spring Decor (the mantle is going to be great!), a mini office makeover and planning a remodel for our girls' room, I'm also piecing together the tablescapes for Easter dinner & brunch. These place-mats will be a part of that.
Basically all you need are some inexpensive neutral place-mats (these Ikea Marit placemats were about $2.50 each – and we bought 10), a set of number stencils (mine are Martha Stewart/Plaid), acrylic paint, paint brush & fabric medium (also Martha Stewart/Plaid). After washing the place-mats, I followed the fabric medium's instructions and painted away!
And repeat, repeat, repeat for as many place-mats as you wish…
See, I told you it was easy…just a little paint and well, repeating!
