Your Home Era Quiz Results are in and…

You’re in your Establishing Home Habits Era

Your challenge (should you accept it 😉) is to establish home habits and routines that will put your organization and home chores on autopilot, so you don’t even have to think about keeping things organized again!

Listen, we all want a peaceful, calm, joyful space to come home to.

But instead of living in a home you love and can be proud of (if you got this quiz result) there’s a good chance that:

You’re super frustrated because every time you declutter and get organized, the mess just keeps coming back.

And all that boomerang mess is keeping you from having a home that serves you, instead of you being a slave to your home.

I USED TO FEEL the same way TOO

I spent years wishing for a more functional and organized home.

But I didn’t know how to get the mess under control…and keep it under control

Until I stumbled on something that literally changed everything…

{Let me tell you a short, but true, story}

Years ago, when my husband, Dean, and I had three kids under the age of four, Dean commuted to work and I stayed home with the kids. He was gone each day before the kids and I woke up and was barely home in time for a late dinner. The days were very, very long for both of us and more often than not, we both fell into bed exhausted. Which meant we left the house a mess each night.

As you can imagine that did not make for very pleasant mornings for me. I always felt so discouraged waking up to a messy living room and a sink full of dishes. Like I was playing catch-up. Every. Single. Day.

One night, out of sheer desperation for a better morning the next day, I took an extra few minutes right after dinner to wash the dishes, while Dean played with the kids. And then, before bed, we both straightened the living room – fluffed the pillows, put the remotes away, etc. It only took a couple of minutes, but it felt like a huge accomplishment.

And, of course, the next morning was SO much easier. I didn’t start the day feeling behind like I had all those previous mornings. I felt lighter, more joyful. It was like we’d discovered a magical 🦄!

Based on that success, we made a point of keeping up those new routines, one stacked on another…

  • dinner then 👉🏻 dishes
  • tidying the living room then 👉🏻 getting ready for bed

until they became habits. Something we simply just did, without thinking about it. So much so that years later another overwhelmed mom friend asked me if we actually did that routine every night. That was when it dawned on me that, we really had figured out something that not everyone instinctively knew how to do, or even was taught to do!

Years later I learned that what Dean and I had stumbled upon is called habit-stacking.

And that’s the secret I want to share with you.

If YOU can establish simple home habits by figuring out what you’re already doing and simply ”tacking onto” those tasks to create routinesyou can put your homemaking chores on autopilot, just like we did.

A message from Shannon

It breaks my heart to see women, and mommas especially, struggling with their homes. Feeling overwhelmed and frustrated by the mess and like they’ll never be able to do anything about it. Thinking they’re not talented or creative enough to make their homes more stylish.

I remember that feeling well because that was me too. I remember too many piles and too many tchotchkes. I remember choosing the wrong paint color again and again and not knowing how to put patterns and colors together. I remember feeling so unhappy with my home.

And when I finally decided enough was enough in my own home, I wasn’t sure how to change it. I wished for something, anything that would help me love my home.

Which is why I created Home Made Lovely. To show you how to love where you live. To find joy in every corner. To add the style and organization that would allow you and your family to flourish in your home. Without taking years and years to figure it out on your own.

So, what comes next?
