Summer Decorating with Faux Coral

I have to tell you summer decorating totally snuck up on me!

I mean wasn’t it just yesterday that we were shoveling a ton of snow every day and cleaning the road salt off of everything?

No?

Oh.

Well then, summer decorating time it is!

Today I have the exciting pleasure of sharing the summer edition of Merry Mag with you. It’s the creative idea of my friend Melissa of The Sweet Escape and the winter holiday issue was a smashing and beautiful success.

Awhile back I came across painted faux coral on Home Stories A to Z and thought what a fun addition they’d be to our summer decor.

So I picked up a couple of rather colorful pieces of faux coral from the local pet store and gave them a spray-painted, white makeover.

Want to make your own DIY Faux Coral? It’s easy – here’s how!

Supplies

Instructions

1. Remove tags and stickers from faux coral.

2. Spray paint with matte or gloss paint and let dry.

That’s it! Seriously. You don’t even have to worry about runs in the spray paint because all the texture sort of catches all that.

Now to go and be inspired by some more summer decorating!

Do you decorate for summer? Freshen up the place? Have you any beachy faux coral decor?
