The other morning I was laying in bed scrolling through Facebook (it was Saturday after all) when I came across a yummy looking recipe for Caramel Apple Sangria.

Now I’m a bit of a sucker for sangria. Seriously wine is my favorite, but then add in some fruit and other yummy goodies and you’ve really got me!

So after strolling through some model homes for fun and visiting an old-fashioned small town fall festival we invited our besties over for dinner. Thinking that the yummy looking caramel apple sangria I’d spotted on Facebook would make a delish complement to a crisp fall afternoon and dinner with friends, I popped into the LCBO (liquor store) to pick up the necessities.

Only to find that the recommended Smirnoff Kissed Caramel isn’t available in Canada at all.

Poo.

So the lovely LCBO ladies and I searched for an alternative and came up with a great one: Dr. McGillicuddy’s Intense Butterscotch.

Which is an even yummier version of plain old caramel vodka.
