Arrows seem to be the big thing in farmhouse/cottage/industrial home art these days. Normally I’m not much of a band-wagon-jumper, but this arrow art is one of those trends I can totally get behind!
Traditionally a Native American symbol, arrows can actually have several meanings. Because an arrow was used to protect one’s family and to hunt, it was a tool for saving and enriching life.
An arrow can symbolize movement or direction.
Two arrows crossed is a symbol of friendship.
A bundle of arrows can signify strength – as one arrow can be easily broken but a bundle of arrows is hard to break.
Or – as in the case of my little painted sign here – arrows can just be for decoration!

Make Your Own Arrow Art with Paint Markers
Supplies
- Craft plaque
- White paint marker
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Arrows to copy, paper and pen (optional)
Instructions
1. Doodle a few arrows on paper to get a feel for what arrows you like the look of. Or just look at my doodles. 🙂
2. Using a ruler and a pencil, mark horizontal lines on plaque.
3. Now go over those lines with paint marker.
4. Add arrow heads and fletching (tail) of the arrows.
And since you can use a ruler (and I gave you permission to copy any of my doodle arrows) this is one craft ANYONE could do!
Do you like the arrow trend? Or has another captured your eye?

Shannon

LOVE this!!!
Thank you, Kristi!
Love it Hun I like the thought of putting a bunch on a canvas and using paint hmmm that sounds like a plan if I ever get it done I will send you a pic of it.
Sounds good!
I love it, and I’m loving the wood items at MIchael’s. I used one to paint a welcome sign for my front porch.
They’re very handy, aren’t they?
So cute! I love how you styled the sign with all the cute mugs and flowers and such too. Gorgeous!
Thank you Lauren. I love styling things all pretty!
How cool would this look in a little boy’s bedroom?
Especially if he had a hand in Creating it.
Another simple yet awesome decor tute.
Thanks Shannon.
