Have you seen this farmhouse table?

Didn’t you fall in love with it the second you saw it?
We sure did.
Its straight lines, rustic feel, simple design.
It looks an awful lot like…
Well that would be because we used Ana White’s Farmhouse Table plan to build our new dining room table too!
Ha!
The secret’s out!
Why reinvent the wheel – or in this case, redesign a table we adore – if someone else has already done it?
That would just be dumb!
We did make some modifications in size to Ana’s plans, just to suit our space – we made it a little wider and a little shorter (in length) because our dining room is a little bit square. Like the shape – not like it’s uncool or anything.
Nope, not our dining room.
And we paired our farmhouse table with knockoff Eames Eiffel chairs instead of wheat sheaf style farm chairs.
We also totally finished our farmhouse table with our own twist. We loved the rustic look of the Country Living version – but we also adore the Restoration Hardware pickled type finish.
But we’ll talk about that tomorrow! (UPDATE: Find out how we finished our table here.)
Have you ever built your own dining room table? Have you used any of Ana White’s plans for DIY furniture?

Still in love with it. 🙂
Ditto!
I’ve always loved that table too – sigh – and yours turned out just gorgeous!
It’s very easy to make, Heather!
Are the instructions for the restoration hardware finish online yet? Thanks!,
Nope! They will be tomorrow morning though! 🙂
LOVE it. And there is no part of you or your anything that is attached to you that is “sqaure”, baby!
Too cool for skool!
We built the same table for our dining room – but I love that no matter how many people build the table using the same plans, each one turns out unique. I really like the paint technique that you did on it…and the chairs are fabulous!
That is one of the reasons we used those plans! The table looks different no matter how many people make it!
You did a great job on your own DR and I love the Country Living room (which I just pinned to my board ‘Countrified’).
I would love to know what camera and (new) lens you bought – please? Thanks..
Hi Linda, I recently bought a used Canon Rebel XS. It came with the standard kit lens, but I also bought a fixed ‘nifty fifty’ lens that I adore!!! Google nifty fifty for whatever DSLR you have. 🙂
You guys did a fantastic job on this table! I absolutely love it! Bravo!! Pinning…
Thank you for pinning our table!!! xo, S.
I love love love a farmhouse table. That’s my dream table for my next house. I saw a beautiful one at Restoration Hardware that I covet. le sigh. one day.
You can build one for a few hundred dollars!
Great job girl! I LOVE this table 😉

Brave, shmave! It’s totally doable!
Oooo, I love that table! You guys did a great job!
LOVE Ana White!!! Fabulous table and I love the pickling – can you use that on a floor???
Great job – you guys are awesome!
I don’t see why you couldn’t use it on a floor – just protect it well from foot and other traffic!
I love this table!!! Heading over to see how you got that finish!!!
Love that table!
It’s so pretty and totally sturdy – which is good with three growing kids!
The table really looks amazing. It is a simple farm house table which you have used very wisely to make it look like an antique.
No. And no. But yours is gorgeous!! The shape, style and finish. Looks so perfect in your space!!!!
Thank you!
I don’t understand…this is an old post, what am I missing?

Hi Shannon, what type of wood did you use?
Looks great!
Just cheapo pine from the big box store!
