Part of the fun of Easter weekend is playing fun family games together. Here are 8 fun Easter games to play with your family this year!
Easter is so much about being together with your family. Hanging out, searching for eggs, eating amazing food. Sounds like a typical, but awesome Easter plan. This year seems like a great year to bring in new options to explore with your family. While the food and visiting with family is great, another aspect of Easter that is so much fun is playing games together as a family. There are so many fun games out there to play, it can be hard to choose. Many of them are active outdoor games such as baseball, basketball or soccer, but there are some unique fun games that are perfect and specific for Easter. If you are looking to add some fun to your Easter holiday, here are a few fun Easter games for you to consider.
8 Fun Easter Games to Play Together
1. Sack racing
This is a classic. Who doesn’t love the suspense and competition of a family- friendly race? Grab a couple of bags, potato socks or even pillowcases for the little ones, and line up! Be ready for hilarity to follow. Challenge the adults versus the kids and get the camera and video camera ready.
2. Easter Obstacle Course
Most times, the weather for Easter is beautiful. Too beautiful to sit inside and miss! Why not head outside and create an obstacle course for the little ones? Have fun with this. Set up tunnels and call them rabbit tunnels, or have them hop their way from one station to the next. It’s your obstacle course, have it set up to be however you want it to be!

3. Egg Toss
Test out those hand-eye coordination skills with this game. Don’t forget the important part of hard-boiling those eggs first! Have everyone pair up, pick a space for each person to stand apart, and let the games begin. The eggs get tossed back and forth between the pair, and once they both catch successfully and complete, they each take a step backward creating a further distance from one another. Who will be the first to drop the egg?
4. Easter Egg Hunt Scavenger Hunt
We all know the traditional Easter Egg hunt of hiding and finding. But, what about adding a fun twist to it? In some eggs, hide a fun clue to throw them off course. OR, have a big egg surprise at the end that they have to follow the clues to find. It’s a great way to be outside, be active and having fun!
5. Tug of War
Adults versus kids, boys versus girls. The options are out there on how to get this fun game set up. Have each team line up, grab hold and start to pull. Have a fun prize for the team that withholds and outlasts!
6. Egg Relay Race
Family competition can be a lot of fun. Have each person draw a number to then indicate what team they are on. Then, have fun explaining that they are going to be having a relay race. Each person will run one way to the endpoint, then turn around and skip back. On the next turn, once their hand is slapped by the person in front of them, they take off and do it all over again. This time, they have to hop and bounce like a bunny for the entire portion of the race. Make ’em giggle with this wacky race!
7. Easter Pinata
Worried that they won’t find enough goodies in their Easter baskets or from their Easter Egg hunt? Have a Pinata to add to the fun! Give each child, starting from youngest to oldest the ability to have a go hitting that fun Easter themed item. Give them each a bag, and step back! Once that breaks, chaos is soon to follow!
8. Egg Roulette
Who is brave enough to step up to the plate and try to find an egg to crack on their head that isn’t raw? Each person grabs an egg and takes turn smashing it on their forehead. Some are hard-boiled, some aren’t. Who will get which ones are totally random, but a ton of fun!
Easter games are a great way to introduce family-friendly fun and competition to your crew. Have fun with pairing teamwork with competition and watching the excitement grow from game to game. Play together, or just sit back and watch. Either way, it’s a blast and a fun way to spend your Easter holiday!
