10 Unique Ways To Save Money All Year Long
1. Hit up your local farmer's market!
This is a great way to save money on things like produce. Not only is this one of the easiest ways to save money, but you can support local businesses and farmers as well which is a great added bonus!
2. Skip the ATM.
Any time you need to withdraw cash from your account, you're better off going through the line and buying something small you already need and then selecting cash back at checkout. This way, you can avoid ATM fees! ATM fees are small but can add up pretty quickly depending on how much you use them.
3. Swap clothes!
If your friends or family members are a similar size to you, consider doing a clothes swap every few months. This is one of our favorite unique ways to save money because it's easy (and fund!) to do.
4. Use public transportation as much as possible.
This isn't something you necessarily need to do every day, but in cases where you would normally have to pay for parking, it can be a lot cheaper to take public transportation.
5. Buy frozen produce.
Many times, frozen produce is often cheaper than fresh produce. It's not recommended to replace your entire diet with frozen produce, but doing half and half is a good way to cut down on your grocery bill but still get healthy foods.
6. Use grocery pick-up.
If you have grocery stores in your area that allow you to check out online and pick your groceries up curbside, this is one of the greatest ways to save money ever! You won't be tempted to buy things you don't need while wandering the aisle and you'll save time, too.
7. Don't use shaving cream.
Shaving cream can be an unnecessary expense. There are many other products you can use (like baby oil or conditioner) that are cheaper and work just as well!
8. Don't wash towels too often.
If you're washing towels every day, you're likely spending much more on laundry than you want to be. Instead, hang your towels up to dry so you only need to wash them once a week. You'll save on soap, water costs, and gas if you have a gas dryer!
9. Buy glasses online.
If you're buying your eyeglasses at doctor's offices or lens places, you're likely paying a premium price for them. You can often find glasses online for a fraction of the price with the same quality! Places like ClearlyContacts.com or ClearlyContacts.ca are making it easier to buy online these days, and thus, one of the easiest ways to save money is to do just that! Besides, who doesn't love shopping in their pajamas?
10. Cancel services you no longer use!
This goes for things besides cable television too. Gym memberships, subscription boxes, anything you pay for monthly and don't use anymore. Make sure to get it cancelled so you're not just throwing money down the drain every month!
